Stream Graphics and Sponsor Breaks

Last updated October 2026  ·  5 min read

The Live Studio draws its graphics from the mat's scoreboard. When the operator scores, declares a winner or loads the next match, the stream changes on its own. Nobody has to switch scenes.

The score bar

During a match the stream shows a wide, short score bar across the bottom of the picture. Kumite, kata, kata flags and team kumite all use the same bar. It shows:

  • Tabs on top: the tatami, the round and the division on the left, and who is up next on the right.
  • Each side: the competitor's name, dojo, flag and score, in the corner's color.
  • Team kumite: the bout being fought, for example BOUT 2 / 3, in the event's language.

Names appear in short form, for example J. SATO, as on every public screen.

Winner, results and bracket

  • Winner card. When the operator declares a winner, the stream announces the winner with their dojo and the division. The card stays on air for at least 8 seconds, even if the operator moves on sooner.
  • Results ranking. When a kumite or kata flags division finishes, the stream shows the results as a ranking list: the bronzes slide in first, then silver, then the champion, each with a medal.
  • Bracket moment. If the TV shows the bracket after each winner, the stream does too: the bracket appears, the winner's name moves into their next slot, then the view moves to the next match on this mat. It holds for about 5 seconds before the break starts.

The bracket moment is off by default. To turn it on, go to Settings → Scoreboard Setup, find TV screens and switch on Show the bracket after each winner. It applies to kumite and kata flags.

Between matches

When a match ends and nothing is loaded yet, the stream switches to a break deck. It cycles through:

  • Up next: the next competitors on this mat.
  • Sponsors: the spots you set up (see below).
  • Search card: a large card telling viewers what to search on YouTube to find every mat, if the operator filled in the channel name.

When the next match goes live (see Ready below), the stream cuts straight back to the mat. The match never waits for a sponsor spot to finish.

The studio's Between matches buttons control this. AUTO is the normal setting. LIVE MAT forces the camera view and BREAK forces the break deck, for ceremonies or delays.

Holding the break: Ready

After a match, the mat's TV and the stream stay on the break screen while the next competitors walk on. On the operator's board a green button appears: Ready: show match. Tap it when the athletes are in position. Starting the clock, or the first point or flag, also ends the break.

Sponsor spots

Sponsor spots play on the mats' TV boards and on the live stream at each changeover, and while a mat is closed. Set them up once for the whole tournament:

  • 1
Open Live Stream → Sponsors between matches In the Tournament Manager, click Live Stream and scroll to Sponsors between matches.
  • 2
Add images or videos Click Upload image or video (PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF images; MP4, MOV or WebM videos up to 40 MB), or paste an https:// link to an image or video and click Add.
  • 3
Choose where and how often For each spot, pick All mats or one mat, and Every break or 1 break in N (2 to 5) for a spot that should come up less often.
  • 4
Set the image time Seconds per image sets how long each image stays up (4 to 60 seconds, 8 by default).

Images rotate. Videos play to the end and always play without sound. On the stream, each break opens with a different sponsor, so every sponsor gets to lead some breaks instead of the same spot always going first.

Extras on the studio laptop

The operator can add a few things in the Live Studio itself. These live only on that laptop and must be picked again after a reload:

  • Sponsor videos / images: extra local files that join the break deck.
  • Event logo, top-right watermark: a logo drawn in the top-right corner over every scene.
  • Cross-promo, YouTube channel to search: the name shown on the search card. This one is remembered.
